I am not a fan of the early holiday blitz. Before Halloween was here we had Christmas music being played on radio stations, displays and merchandise for sale in stores, adds and hype from the media. I love Christmas and the holiday season! I also think that we are by nature not a very thankful or grateful people. Thanksgiving seems to be just a blip on the calendar and an excuse for big shopping days and more store and media hype. We need to be more thankful and spend some time in this hustle and bustle of life to acknowledge the source of our great blessings. That is from our Heavenly Father. We also need to let our families and friends know just how much we appreciate them and how thankful we are for their love and support and strength in our lives. Let us not get so mixed up in the ways of the marketing world. Stop and pay attention to what we are truly blessed with and what matters most in our life. I for one am thankful for the love and support of my Father in Heaven and for the most wonderful wife and best friend in the world. I also have the 4 best children that a father could be blessed with and with an extended family that is simply awesome. A home and a job that provide safety and the necessities of life. The blessing and opportunity to live in the greatest country on earth and in a state that supports and allows me to worship how where and what I may.
These are just a few of the things that I am giving THANKS for at this time and season of the year.
